Drew feat. Curfew - Whisper

The debut music video from Drew feat. Curfew - Whisper

Saxon...Producer and Musician

Who is Saxon and what are you about?

I’m a producer from Kent and I love making music. It’s as simple as that, (laughs)

Who or what lead you to start music?

I've always been into music from when I was a kid, I’ve played guitar since I was five years old, drums, piano, everything really. I’m versatile. The main thing that got me into music was the fact that I was kicked out of school. I went to college early and did a course in music and music technology, I completed that and I’ve been producing ever since really.

Genres?

I can make anything you want me to make, from film music to R&B, hip-hop, grime, dubstep, literally, anything you want I can make it.

What makes you different to other producers?

Because I’m better than them, (laughs), no I’m only joking. I listen to a lot of different things so I’m always trying to find that different sound, trying to be new and different.

What can we expect in 2011?

Well, you will hear a lot of my production on Curfew's album, which is being released very soon. I’m also working with Hitman, if anyone remembers the Chronic 2001, the Dre album; I’m having beats deliberated for the new 'Detox' album. I'm also working with Pop Dollarz from the US, his part of D Block with Cory Gunz and Clipz. So, hopefully, a progressive 2011!

Wow; so we can expect a lot from Saxon in 2011!! I wish him all the best in his music career, he deserves the success!!

Nasa Woods...

So, Nasa, what brought you to the video shoot today?

I'm here to support Drew, I’ve known him for a while, and he was in one of my groups when I was younger. Drew has got a really good voice, you can here it on the track, and it’s amazing. I wish him all the best success because he works very hard and he deserves all the success that comes with what he is about to do.

Who is Nasa Woods and what are you about?

I’m a UK singer, I mainly focus on R&B and Pop and I’m also a dancer, I do popping and UK hip-hop and street. Look out for me; I’ll be coming up with a few videos hopefully, next year.

Who or what inspired you to do music?

Michael Jackson is a big inspiration for my music and dancing career. When I was younger I used to always watch Michael, his dancing inspired me. Musically, my main influences are Michael, 112, Jagged Edge, basically, people with soul. I love to listen to people with soul.

What makes you different to other singers?

My image, I look very different. I do R&B and I also dance so I’m coming out with something different, qwerky. There are a lot of singers out there, some of them are already dancing but I do things differently, I’m more creative and crazy, (laughs), I would say that me being in a boy band previously has given me a lot of experience within the music industry. I think when you’re in a band and you've worked with different producers and writers it builds you up as a character, I think I’m ready now. I've got the experience behind me from what I did before to smash it and take over!

What can we expect from Nasa Woods in 2011?

Hopefully, I’ll be in the process of making myself a household name. I'm aiming to get myself in the UK top 10, but the main aim is to build my fan base, because, I am a fresh artist. I’m trying to establish myself as a solo artist as I was doing loads of other things before.

Finally, what is your opinion on the music scene at the moment?

I think at the moment there are a lot of talented artists in the UK but they're undiscovered, it's really hard to express yourself in the music scene but I think at the moment people are doing really well. For instance, N Dubz, Tinchy Stryder, Chipmunk and Tinie Tempah, are all doing really well, they're creating a household name in the UK and worldwide. At the moment, UK music is all good.

Thank you for taking time out to do this interview.

An insight into J Stories...

I caught up with J Stories on the set of Drew and Curfew's brand new music video. Check the interview out....

So, what brought you to the video shoot today J?

Well, it's my brother's video shoot and his supported me through my whole music career so I’m here to support him as well. I've got a cameo in the video so I’m kind of excited, going to be shown on TV, (laughs), some lovely ladies are going to see me as well, so you know, it's going to be nice! (Laughs), have you heard the track?! It's fantastic but I’m always around Drew so it's been drummed into my head consistently, (laughs), but it's a fantastic track.

Lets get down to the nitty gritty...who is J Stories and what are you about?

My name is J Stories and I'm a singer/songwriter, actor and dancer. Basically, I'm a philanthropist, an entrepreneur. I'm just everything that you could imagine within your imagination and more.

Who or what inspired your music career?

Various artists have inspired me and my music career. Artists like Michael Jackson, Prince, Freddy Mercury, Kanye West, versatile artists.

What genres of music do you focus on?

I do all types of genres, my style is very analytic! It encompasses all popular music within the industry right now but I do try to implement some of the older music sounds and add my own flavour to it, thus, creating my own unique sound.

What artists do you listen to?

To be honest, I don't really listen to that many artists but I do listen to a lot of old school music, for instance, the Temptations, Prince and Michael Jackson. I also listen to a lot of my friend’s music, for example, Drew and Nasa Woods.

What makes you different to other artists?

I don't think I’m comparable to other singers, because I have my own style and I implement this into my music. I put my own style to popular music by putting my own identity and stamp on it, in my opinion; this is what makes me stand out. I like to make music that's catchy and encourages people to listen to it and remember it.

What can we expect from J Stories in 2011?

Well, basically, I wrote a song called 'My World' with my friend Glam, who’s a rapper, and we'll be doing the music video for that in January. The director that is shooting our video is the same director that shot Tinchy Stryder's 'Game Over' video and Scorcher's 'It's my name' video, his name's Rich Vision and his very good at what he does so it should be a good video. I'll also be shooting a second video to one of my singles that I wrote with Drew, it's called 'Sound Control'. There are definitely good things coming in the New Year.

What is your opinion on the music scene at the moment?

To be honest, for urban music, it is very good! It's a good time for people to come up right now, because a lot of people are succeeding in the music industry that weren't succeeding before. As long as your music is good and it can appeal to the demographic of the UK then you'll be able to make something of yourself in the industry.

Thank you.
